The right length for your face
Short nose lengthening extends a nose that is short or upturned so that the nostrils show less from the front. Mild cases can be improved with tip surgery, but YUNO usually corrects the root cause with alar cartilage repositioning and septal extension grafting using autologous cartilage.
A short nose often comes with a nasolabial angle that is too open and tissue that resists stretching. Because the soft tissue must be carefully released and supported, the choice of cartilage and the strength of the graft matter as much as the design.

- A nose that looks short or turned up
- Normal length but too much nostril showing from the front
- A nose shortened by contracture after previous surgery
- A small nose surrounded by tight, firm tissue
- A nose-to-lip angle of 110 degrees or more
- A short, upturned nose that makes the face look flat
Why the cause matters
Changing only the tip can make a short nose look rounder. Lengthening addresses the cause, so the nostrils, tip and profile all improve together.
How the surgery is tailored
Upturned tip: cartilage repositioning
The upper part of the alar cartilage is released and fixed lower down, bringing the tip into a better position.
Short nose: repositioning + septal extension
Autologous tissue is grafted between the septum and alar cartilages to lengthen the nose with stable support.
Combined cases: + augmentation
Length is extended while silicone raises the bridge and autologous cartilage adds volume to the tip.

Which cartilage is used to lengthen the nose?
Septal cartilage is commonly used. If more strength or volume is needed, for example after contracture, rib cartilage may be recommended.
Is lengthening different from upturned nose correction?
They overlap. If length is normal but the tip points up, repositioning the cartilage may be enough. If the nose is genuinely short, a septal extension graft is needed.
Can a nose shortened by a previous surgery be fixed?

Will the lengthened tip feel stiff?
The tip may feel firmer at first because of the supporting graft, and it gradually softens as swelling settles.
