Long & Arrow Nose Correction in Korea

Shorten a long nose and lift a tip that points down like an arrowhead, for a softer, younger impression.

Long nose surgery

Shorter, lifted, more youthful

In short

Long and arrow nose correction shortens a nose that is too long and lifts a drooping, arrow-shaped tip. At YUNO the nasal cartilage is trimmed and rotated upward, the septum is shortened or repositioned, and the depressor muscle that pulls the tip down when smiling can be released to reduce recurrence.

A long nose with a drooping tip can make the face look stern or older and upset the balance of the whole face. Because the depressor septi muscle pulls the tip down every time you smile, surgery that only reshapes cartilage may slowly relapse.

Good candidates

  • A long nose that makes the whole face look long

  • A long septum that needs shortening
  • A radix (start of the nose) that sits lower than usual
  • A tip that drops when you smile

Why the cause matters

Shortening the cartilage, lifting the tip and releasing the depressor muscle work together. Missing one step can let the tip fall again over time.

Technique

How the surgery is tailored

Cartilage shortening and tip rotation

Nasal cartilage is trimmed to reduce length and the tip is rotated upward toward the forehead.

Alar cartilage reduction

If the tip cartilage is overdeveloped, part of it is removed and the rest is repositioned upward.

Septal repositioning

The septal cartilage is moved upward and fixed, supporting the new tip position.

Depressor muscle release

The muscle that pulls the tip down is released to help prevent the tip dropping again.

Materials

Implants & autologous tissue

The right material depends on your skin, the condition of your nose and the shape you want. Your surgeon will explain the options at consultation.

Material Type Typical use
Silicone Implant Raises the bridge and creates a smooth line
Gore-Tex Implant Porous surface lets tissue grow in for close adhesion
AlloDerm Processed human dermis Covers thin skin over the bridge or adds tip height
Ear cartilage Autologous Tip shaping and lengthening
Septal cartilage Autologous Tip projection and nose lengthening
Rib cartilage Autologous Strong support with ample volume, often for revision
Dermis & fascia Autologous Soft-tissue padding under thin skin, reduces implant show

FAQ

Long & Arrow Nose Correction: questions

What is an arrow nose?

It describes a long nose with a tip that hangs down like an arrowhead. It can make the face look sharp or older than it is.

Will the tip drop again over time?

To reduce relapse, YUNO combines cartilage shortening and rotation with release of the depressor muscle that pulls the tip down when you smile.

Can I also raise a low bridge?

Yes. A silicone implant can raise the bridge while autologous cartilage refines tip height, in the same surgery.

Is the procedure painful?

It is performed under sedation, and post-operative discomfort is usually managed with prescribed medication during the first days.
